I have been planning to renovate my backyard for a long time, however was not sure what exactly I want. Going through many options online, I realized I need landscaping contractors to advise me. Action Home Services hosted event last summer for their clients and I went there with my friend (he was interested in hiring them at the time). Their presentations and strong customer service, high professionalism and the works that they have done impressed me much more than I could imagine, so when I was going through HomeStars and saw their company name- I did not hesitate a second anymore. Full project took a week, the crew did everything from scratch- I had some old grass and one old tree to remove. After cleaning and disposing all the garbage, the fun began. From 7 am to late night, the team was working hard not wasting a minute. I have never seen such motivated crew before, all of them were working like they did it for their own houses yay!
Overall, the services I got: grass sodding, interlocking repair on sidewalk, deck installation and flagstone walkway (I want to build something for kids, so walkway leaves some free space, which is ideal for me). The deck is not too big, but perfectly fits my needs.

My family bought a new house this winter and I couldn’t be happier to have my own space! However, the place was not in its best condition, so we started to renovate it by ourselves. Painting walls, re-doing all plumbing, everything went pretty good but when spring came and we realized out backyard needs attention. My dad and mom were not sure what do we need there, but one of mandatory thing was deck. I googled for a long time trying to understand which material is better and more affordable, but each category has literally dozens of different brands to choose from. Then I started searching affordable landscaping company in Ontario, thinking it’s the easiest way to get the work done, but here I got more in trouble, because there are too many companies and it’s hard to pick the best one.
Action Home Services was in my list of companies to consider. When I first saw them on HomeStars, I liked their jobs and website looked cool. I emailed 5-6 companies, and AHS was first to respond and book an estimate next days. Other companies expected me to wait weeks just to get me a quote! I mean, I get that now it is the season for all contractors, but waiting time was too long I think. Anyways, John and Eugene came on time and once they saw our backyard, they already started prosing bunch of options and how do they see our perfect backyard-that impressed my dad a lot. After 20-min discussion, dad picked the color and material he liked the most.
The company guys were coming early in the morning and leaving when it was dark, all day-nonstop. They shared with me a lot of tips about landscaping and were very nice to me. Dad met them at evenings to see the process and discuss the process. I will attach the photos, so you can see the results.
