This is operational knowledge — not classroom theory — delivered by the practitioners who use it to run the business every day.

AHS Academy is led by John Karpov, Founder, President, CEO, and Owner of Action Home Services — and his story is the foundation the Academy is built on. John started AHS at just 17, shortly after immigrating to Canada with no established network, and grew it from a true one-person operation — where he was simultaneously the salesperson, project manager, logistics coordinator, and administrator — into a structured, systems-driven company that has scaled at roughly 70–90% year over year.
That growth was engineered, not accidental. A Canadian college Project Management graduate, John built AHS on a foundation of documented, teachable processes: a library of more than 1,000 standard operating procedures (roughly 300 for the sales team alone), a 500-page project-management manual refined over four years, and company-wide KPIs, scorecards, and open-book financial reporting. Turning the way a business actually works into something that can be trained and duplicated is his defining strength — and it is exactly what AHS Academy delivers to others.
Training has been central to how John operates for years. AHS runs mandatory daily sales training, daily team coaching calls, structured multi-week onboarding with per-chapter testing, and monthly ride-along coaching between job sites. Over the past three years alone, he has invested roughly $1.5 million in professional development and attended more than 100 conferences and seminars, bringing 20+ team members and managers with him.
Under his leadership, AHS has earned a strong reputation across the GTA industry: 58+ industry awards — including 21 Landscape Ontario, 13 HomeStars, and 25 Pool & Spa Industry awards — a 10-year workmanship warranty, and a 12,000 sq. ft. design centre. Training is not new to AHS — it is how the company was built. For more than two years, AHS Academy has delivered structured, practitioner-led training programs, formalizing a culture of professional development long embedded in the business through daily training, extensive SOPs, and continuous coaching.
Every course is grounded in real project experience and battle-tested systems, and every instructor is an active AHS practitioner — not an outside consultant or academic. Mornings cover the frameworks and concepts; afternoons put them straight to work through hands-on labs, workshops, and real AHS case studies, so participants leave able to do the work, not just describe it.
AHS Academy offers seven certificate programs, each covering a core function of a modern service and construction business. Every program can be taken for a complete certificate and is delivered in person, instructor-led, at the AHS training facility in the Greater Toronto Area or online.
