General Labourer

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our landscaping team as a General Labourer. The General Labourer will play a vital role in supporting the overall operations of our landscaping company by assisting with a wide range of tasks related to landscape maintenance, construction, and installation.

This position requires physical stamina, a willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions, and the ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with team members.

Responsibilities:

∙ Landscape Maintenance: Assist in performing routine landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, pruning, and leaf/debris cleanup to maintain the appearance and health of lawns, gardens, and other landscaped areas.
∙ Planting and Mulching: Assist in the installation of plants, trees, shrubs, and flowers according to landscape plans and design specifications. Assist in spreading mulch, gravel, or other ground cover materials to enhance the aesthetics and conserve moisture.
∙ Irrigation Support: Assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of irrigation systems, including digging trenches, laying pipes, and adjusting sprinkler heads under the guidance of experienced team members.
∙ Hardscape Installation: Support the construction and installation of various hardscape features such as patios, pathways, retaining walls, fences, or outdoor structures. Assist in preparing the site, carrying materials, and performing basic tasks under the direction of skilled team members.
∙ Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain landscape equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, wheelbarrows, and small power tools safely and efficiently. Follow proper safety procedures and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
∙ Site Preparation: Assist in site preparation for landscape projects, including grading, soil preparation, and removal of debris or obstacles. Help load and unload materials, tools, and equipment as required.

Asphalt Labourer

We are looking to hire an enthusiastic and hardworking Asphalt Labourer to assist in the day-to-day paving of asphalt driveways and parking lots. The responsibilities of an Asphalt Labourer include delivering water to the rollers and plate compactors, preparing the pavement, saw cutting, sweeping and raking, directing traffic and cleaning of work area at the end of the day.

To ensure success as an Asphalt Laborer, you should be physically fit and be able to work long hours in all weather conditions. Asphalt Laborers are often required to work over weekends, on public holidays.

Responsibilities:

∙ Offloading the truck and gathering tools for the day.
∙ Use of rakes, shovels and hand tampers.
∙ Asphalt saw cutting.
∙ Sweeping and cleaning the area in front of the paver.
∙ Working as a Flagger to direct motorists away from the work zone.
∙ Transporting water to the rollers, power broom, and plate compactor.
∙ Assisting the spreader operator.
∙ Shoveling material out to the end gate.
∙ Maintaining cleanliness and packing equipment.
∙ Preparing construction fencing and safety fencing.

Asphalt Spreader & Roller Operator

Our growing team continuously seeks hard-working, talented & dedicated individuals to fill the available roles for our Paving Crews. Reporting to the Foreman, the Roller Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Breakdown Rollers and Finish Rollers. The Roller Operator distributes, breaks down, compresses, and gives a finished surface to cooling asphalt. Barricade newly installed asphalt to prevent damages and supply customers with informational material and care instructions. Ensure the job site is clean and free of excess material.

Responsibilities:

Equipment Operation:
∙ Operate the roller and other heavy equipment safely and appropriately.
∙ Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
∙ Maintain and ensure vehicles and equipment are stocked with needed materials.
∙ Safely operate roller in successive overlapping passes over surfaces to be compacted, rolling asphalt to desired compaction and smoothness.
∙ Determine the speed and direction of the machine, based on knowledge of compressibility of material under changing temperatures, so that ridges do not form by excessive pressure.
∙ Push hand roller and pound surfaces using a hand tamp, or guide portable plate compactors over areas not accessible to a road roller.
∙ Operate the Breakdown Roller to achieve proper compaction.
∙ Operate the Finish Roller in successive overlapping passes to apply the final finish, and remove imperfections with a finish roller.
∙ Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of the Roller.
∙ Ensure the job site is clean and free of excess material.
∙ Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics.
∙ Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics.

∙ 2+ years experience operating Breakdown Rollers, Rubber Tire Rollers and/or Finish Rollers is required.

Working Conditions:
∙ Out-of-town travel may be required.

∙ Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
∙ Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 lbs. regularly.

Small Engine Mechanic
