Landscape Designer

The designer plays a crucial role in landscaping, they are responsible for creating aesthetically pleasing and functional outdoor spaces. Designers work closely with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and goals for the outdoor space. They gather information about the site’s characteristics and develop a concept that addresses the client’s requirements and harmonizes with the site’s natural features. The Landscape Designer will need to create detailed landscape plans that outline the overall layout and composition of the outdoor space. They should consider elements such as pathways, planting areas, water features, hardscapes (such as patios or decks), structures (like pergolas or gazebos), and functional zones (such as seating areas or play areas). The plans may also include grading and drainage strategies, lighting arrangements, and material choices.

We are seeking skilled and reliable G, DZ, and AZ  Drivers to join our landscaping company. The Driver will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our business by safely transporting equipment, materials, and team members to various job sites. This position requires a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and the ability to follow directions and schedules. The driver will also assist with general labour tasks as needed.

Responsibilities:

∙ Safe Transportation: Safely operate company vehicles, including trucks, vans, or trailers, to transport landscaping equipment, tools, materials, and team members to and from job sites.
∙ Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in proper working order. Report any mechanical issues or damages promptly to the supervisor and coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs as needed.
∙ Material Handling: Load and unload landscaping equipment, tools, and materials onto vehicles, ensuring secure and safe transport. Adhere to proper loading and unloading techniques to prevent damage or accidents.

Asphalt Labourer

We are looking to hire an enthusiastic and hardworking Asphalt Labourer to assist in the day-to-day paving of asphalt driveways and parking lots. The responsibilities of an Asphalt Labourer include delivering water to the rollers and plate compactors, preparing the pavement, saw cutting, sweeping and raking, directing traffic and cleaning of work area at the end of the day.

To ensure success as an Asphalt Laborer, you should be physically fit and be able to work long hours in all weather conditions. Asphalt Laborers are often required to work over weekends, on public holidays.

Responsibilities:

∙ Offloading the truck and gathering tools for the day.
∙ Use of rakes, shovels and hand tampers.
∙ Asphalt saw cutting.
∙ Sweeping and cleaning the area in front of the paver.
∙ Working as a Flagger to direct motorists away from the work zone.

Asphalt Spreader & Roller Operator

Our growing team continuously seeks hard-working, talented & dedicated individuals to fill the available roles for our Paving Crews. Reporting to the Foreman, the Roller Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Breakdown Rollers and Finish Rollers. The Roller Operator distributes, breaks down, compresses, and gives a finished surface to cooling asphalt. Barricade newly installed asphalt to prevent damages and supply customers with informational material and care instructions. Ensure the job site is clean and free of excess material.

Responsibilities:

Equipment Operation:
∙ Operate the roller and other heavy equipment safely and appropriately.
∙ Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
∙ Maintain and ensure vehicles and equipment are stocked with needed materials.
∙ Safely operate roller in successive overlapping passes over surfaces to be compacted, rolling asphalt to desired compaction and smoothness.
∙ Determine the speed and direction of the machine, based on knowledge of compressibility of material under changing temperatures, so that ridges do not form by excessive pressure.
∙ Push hand roller and pound surfaces using a hand tamp, or guide portable plate compactors over areas not accessible to a road roller.
∙ Operate the Breakdown Roller to achieve proper compaction.
∙ Operate the Finish Roller in successive overlapping passes to apply the final finish, and remove imperfections with a finish roller.
∙ Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of the Roller.
∙ Ensure the job site is clean and free of excess material.
∙ Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics.
∙ Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics.

Small Engine Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic to join our landscaping company. The Mechanic will play a critical role in ensuring the proper maintenance, repair, and safety of our landscaping equipment and vehicles. This position requires strong mechanical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently to keep our equipment in excellent working condition.

Responsibilities:

∙ Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and inspections on landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, trucks, trailers, and other power tools. Identify and address mechanical issues, leaks, wear and tear, or safety concerns promptly and efficiently.
∙ Repairs & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in landscaping equipment and vehicles. Conduct tests, use diagnostic tools, and consult technical manuals to identify and troubleshoot problems. Replace faulty parts, perform adjustments, and conduct comprehensive repairs to restore equipment functionality.

Participate in equipment acquisition processes, including researching options, evaluating specifications, and providing input on equipment selection. ∙ Shop Organization & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in the equipment maintenance shop. Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are properly cleaned, organized, and stored.
∙ Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in equipment technology, and best practices in equipment maintenance and repair. Seek opportunities for professional development and attend training sessions or workshops as needed.

Requirements:

∙ Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably in a landscaping or similar industry.
∙ Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills, including engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and power tools.
∙ Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
∙ Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting and repair.
∙ Solid understanding of preventive maintenance practices and procedures.
∙ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
∙ Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
∙ Strong organizational and time management skills.
∙ Familiarity with landscaping equipment and vehicles, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, trucks, and trailers.
