Joining Interlocking and Asphalt Driveway with Hot Asphalt

Action Paving recently completed a hot asphalt patching project to join a recently installed interlocking driveway to an existing asphalt driveway together without any visible seams. This project covered up a noticeable gap between the two driveways, giving both form and function.

The Process

1. We began by filling up the gap area, which was leveled and cleaned, and prepared it to accept the new asphalt. Utmost care was taken on the edges of the interlocking not to damage it during paving.
2. We then used hot asphalt to seal the gap, spreading and evening it out with great accuracy to achieve a smooth transition between the interlocking surface and the asphalt surface. The patch of asphalt was compacted to make it stronger and avoid future settling or cracking.

The outcome was a beautifully joined driveway, with the hot asphalt creating a smooth and solid connection between the two surfaces. The completed job not only closed the gap but also improved the overall look of the property.
