Creating Durable and Beautiful Places to Park

This repair project entailed patching a huge pothole that existed near a sewer manhole with utmost care so that the manhole was not damaged in any way. Let’s see how our team dealt with the complexities and achieved a smooth outcome.

The Process

  1. Excavation
We started by excavating the ruined asphalt in a proper rectangular cutout to achieve clean edges upon repair. Asphalt that we dug out was taken care of and disposed of properly at the end of the project.
  2. Base Repair
During digging, we discovered widespread base damage, and rebuilding the foundation became necessary. We laid and compacted plenty of gravel to render it stable and prevent future settlement.
  3. Manhole Protection
The manhole sewer made it even more challenging to operate. Our team had to operate even more cautiously around the manhole so that we do not destroy it using heavy machinery or excavation work. Due to the enormous size of the pothole, we needed to utilize heavy equipment, which further aggravated the problem in navigating the area where the manhole existed.
  4. Asphalt Application
Finally, we laid fresh hot asphalt, which we compacted thoroughly for a smooth, long-lasting finish. The result was an uninterrupted repair that fully restored the function and appearance of the area.

The Results!
