Everything You Need to Know About Composite Privacy Screens
Outdoor privacy screens come in a variety of styles and designs. Keep reading to learn the many advantages of composite privacy screens and find out if they are the right choice for your home.
Benefits of Composite Privacy Screens
Composite privacy screens are a popular alternative to wooden screen materials. They offer several distinct advantages, including superior durability and longevity, and require less maintenance.
Composite privacy screens can last up to 25 years without needing repairs or replacements. They are engineered specifically to resist rotting, warping, or becoming infested with insects. The material also has excellent water resistance and can withstand extreme weather conditions like snow storms, hail, and the beaming sun. They also don’t need to be stained or painted – just an occasional wash cleaning with a garden hose will do.
Composite Privacy Screens' Endless Design Options
Composite wood offers homeowners a wide variety of design options. They are available in various colours, sizes, and shapes, so they can be tailored to fit any budget and aesthetic preference. Homeowners can even choose from decorative accents such as lattice trims or picket-style panels for added visual interest. Plus, unlike wood structures that must be built on-site, prefabricated composite screens can usually be ready to install in just one day – making the installation process much easier and faster than other types of projects.
Are Composite Screens Right for Me?
Cost – Privacy screens can cost anywhere from a few hundred dollars to thousands of dollars, depending on the size, quantity, and materials used.
Location – If you live in an area with frequent foot traffic or airborne noise, then you may want to invest in a higher-quality composite material that can block out sound and visuals.
Size – Take measurements of the area where you plan to install the screen so that you know exactly what size to buy.
Purpose – Is it for visual appeal or does it serve a highly-functional purpose?

How We Install Composite Privacy Screens
First, we will survey the area where the screen will be installed to determine the most suitable size and location for it. We will take measurements of the space, noting any existing obstacles or potential hazards, as well as assessing sunlight exposure in order to maximize the aesthetic appeal and longevity of the product.
Once a location has been identified, we will prepare the area for installation. This includes leveling out any uneven ground, digging foundations (if necessary), drilling pilot holes as well as removing any debris that might interfere with installation.
Then, we can begin assembling the composite privacy screen. Depending on the product and instructions, this could involve screwing together planks, paneling boards, and/or mounting posts.
Once the screen is assembled, we will ensure it is firmly secured in place with nails or screws. In some cases, additional support may be required (e.g. extra lags or brackets) in order to guarantee the stability of the finished product.
Finally, we will typically finish the job by cleaning up any debris and making sure that all exposed screws are tightened as necessary, to further reinforce the security of the screen.
